Website Overhaul

A website that loads fast and gets found.

Most of what I do is operational software, but a lot of Maine businesses have the same problem one step earlier: a website that is slow, hard to read on a phone, and invisible on Google. It is usually the cheapest thing on this site to fix.

Same rules as everything else — flat price agreed before I start, a clear finish date, and you own the site and the domain when it is done. No monthly fee to me, ever.

The usual signs

Any two of these is worth a rebuild.

It looks wrong on a phone, and most of your visitors are on one
It takes several seconds to load, so people leave before it appears
You cannot find yourself on Google for what you actually do
Nobody can update it without calling whoever built it
You are paying a monthly fee and are not sure what for
It still lists a service you dropped or a person who left
There is no clear way for a customer to actually contact you
It was built years ago and no longer matches the business

Two ways to do it

Both are a flat price agreed before anything starts.

Most common

Full rebuild

A new site, built from scratch around what your business actually does now.

$2,500~2 weeks

Flat price · no monthly fee to me

  • Up to six pages, written with you
  • Built mobile-first, because that is where your visitors are
  • Set up to be found for what you do and where you are
  • A contact route that actually reaches you
  • Hosting and domain set up in your name
If the bones are fine

Refresh

Keep the site you have and fix what is holding it back.

$1,200~1 week

Flat price · no monthly fee to me

  • Made to work properly on phones
  • Load time cut, usually by a lot
  • Out-of-date content corrected
  • Search basics fixed so Google reads it properly
  • Contact and phone made obvious on every page

This site is the example. It is a lightweight static website built without plugins or a page builder. It loads quickly, works cleanly on phones, and can be maintained by any competent web developer. That is what I would build for you.

What is always included

No add-on list and no surprises after the fact.

  • Your domain and hosting set up in your name, not mine
  • An email address at your own domain
  • A secure certificate, so browsers do not warn visitors
  • Set up for Google Business Profile and local search
  • The files handed over, so any developer can pick it up
  • Hosting usually runs $0 to $20 a month, billed to you at cost

Send me your site and I’ll tell you straight. If it only needs a refresh I will say so, and if it is fine as it is I will say that too. No cost and no obligation.
